Last week I ran the Quad Cities Half Marathon. The last time I ran this particular race I ran it with my good friend, Jean. She was my boss when we lived in the suburbs of Chicago. Every Thursday and sometime other days, we would run after work. Running this race with her 3 years ago was a great time to catch up & made me miss having a running buddy. Fast forward 3 years. I run frequently with Erika. There's also Sarah, Laura, Katie, Jen & the other Sarah. I still miss Jean, but just another sign this move has been good for us. As Jean & I were running around she would ask questions about places we were passing. I had no clue what city we were in, let alone any of the sights. Now 3 years later I know what bridge I'm on, what the road names are and definitely which city we're in. I have a running buddy & I really like my Iowa life. Oh & I ran 5 minutes faster this year!

I'm not the only runner in the family though. We are a family of runners. To GG & Papa's credit they come to everyone's races & cheer us on. GG makes the signs & helps motivate us to do our best. This week I again ran a race, but only a 5k. The boys both ran in the Bumble Rumble. It's the St. Ambrose race for the kids. Zach & his class sang the National Anthem (Zach just stayed on the side & held Tim's hand). Cole came in 2nd, Zach came in 3rd.

| The best race Zach has ever run! He rocked it!!! |

| I know it's not terribly flattering, but she is the BEST! |
