New site, new school year, new shoes

In 2007 we started with Babysites.com to keep our family up to date on the upcoming arrival of our baby. That "baby" is now a big brother who is 5 and starting kindergarten tomorrow. It's time for a change.

I recall starting kindergarten. I had this blue bracelet that my parents bought me to wear on my first day. I kept getting in trouble for wearing it around the house. My mom would say, "That's for your first day of school! Go put it back on your dresser." Every chance I got, I would sneak away and go put it on. I was obsessed. My mom would say, "You're going to break it. Then you won't have a new bracelet to wear to school." She was right. I broke it about a week before school started. I was devastated.

Cole doesn't have a blue bracelet. He has shoes. Since he hasn't been looking forward to kindergarten I was pulling out all the stops. Special snacks for your lunch; the most expensive backpack Target sells; special pencils; football erasers; new clothes; AND Nike bright yellow shoes. Not be confused with the Nike bright yellow shoes he already has. - He's kind of a shoe guy. - He could not wait for these shoes to come. They finally came and he was ready. There was no way I was telling him he had to wait until his first day of school. He's been wearing them the last 3 days and luckily they're still intact to wear to kindergarten. Zach also got new shoes.

Cole helps Zach put on his new shoes.

I think there's something so sweet in how their little feet are so comfortable just being right next to each other. They will greatly miss each other when Cole's in school all day.

Summer video coming next post!
